While Jesus is being presented in the
temple Simeon declares that through Jesus, God becomes really present to his
people not only for Jews but also for all people …nations-to the universal
salvation. He foretells the rejection of Jesus by his own people and Mary would
be a partner in the pain and suffering in the wake of his life and activity.
