Lk. 9: 37-43: The incident happens after the
transfiguration of our Lord and the disciples with him wanted to be there on
the top of the mountain. Jesus brings them down to the valley of reality. There
they are taught to face chaos and disorder. The request of the father of the
boy who had a demon in him comes from this disorder to Jesus. He gripped the
situation in flash and in his mastery the disorder became a calm. Often we feel that life is out
of control; that we have lost our grip on things. Only the Master of life can
deal with life with the calm competence that brings everything under control.
