The Gospel
stresses the reality of resurrection and the necessity of the cross. It also
stresses the urgency of our duty that we have to proclaim the above. To
strengthen the disciples for the above task he promises the power of the Holy
Spirit. The rest is history and we are part of that history. Finishing his
task, Jesus is ascended to heaven.
