Jesus’ prayer at the tomb of Lazarus is a prayer of
thanksgiving which expresses his confidence and constant union with the Father.
Jesus teaches us that the resurrection is an already present reality in him. By
giving physical life to Lazarus, God’s power of giving spiritual life is
revealed and it anticipates the glorious resurrection of Jesus the Lord.
