In this controversy narrative Jesus affirms that his power is from God and exposes the absurdity of the charge made by his detractors. By using the phrase ‘finger of God’, Jesus alludes to Moses who worked through God’s power (Ex. 8: 15) in dealing with the ten plagues. Jesus is the only way for unity and others scatter in v. 23.
