3: 22-30: John the Baptist’s role was to bring Israel and Jesus together. Once
his job done, he expresses joy and was happy to fade into oblivion. It is not
to ourselves that we must try to attach people but to Jesus Christ. It is not
for ourselves we seek the loyalty of men but to Him, Jesus Christ. John the
Baptist is a model to the preachers.
